This fine new country house commands a superb view over the North Yorkshire landscape to the hills in the distance. We were brought on board in the early stages of this project and devised a strong layout of generously proportioned planting, lawns and water to counterbalance the confident outline of the house. The building is clad in stunning Portuguese limestone and we have taken its warm tones and textures as inspiration for the surfacing of breakout terraces and dining areas overlooking panoramas of the rolling farmland. Our masterplan for this garden was carefully arranged using the classical order of squares and the golden section rectangle, creating a strong bond between garden and architecture. The garden is currently being built and we’re looking forward to seeing it complete in the early summer of 2025.
